Foundations Collection: An Emblem in Your Home for the Values You Hold

A collection of 15 original paintings made with earth pigments, coffee, limestone, sand, charcoal, and acrylic inks. Each piece is uniquely made with organic texture that will bring the grounding essence of the natural world into your home. 

I wanted to create artwork that reminds us of the convictions that shape our lives and to represent these values within the sanctuary we call home - our sacred space. 

This series is about staying authentic and true, solid as a rock, to the beliefs you hold dear. These beliefs make up the foundation of your life.

These paintings came from a place deep within. In the early stages of this collection I began to reflect on the foundations which I have built my life on (kids will do this to you). You really start to examine yourself and the values you want to pass down and live out.  In this headspace, I started a new way of painting, with lots of texture and earth tones.

I’ve been drawn to rocks lately, mostly the ones that I stumble upon outside when on walks with my kids. Rocks are strong, imperfect, unique, and just cool to look at. If you slow down enough, you can find a dash of red, orange or yellow on a seemingly beige rock. And that just really makes me happy. It’s hard to put into words, but I’m sure you can relate somehow. 

Just as rocks form the foundation upon which structures are built, they serve as a symbol of strength and resilience.
