Bring a sense of nature into your home with this warm, organic abstract painting. This piece is painted with natural pigments, such as limestone, sand, charcoal, coffee, brick, inks and even a dash of pepper. It is mixed with an acrylic medium to seal in the colors.
This painting was inspired by a walk with my kids one afternoon on our back trail. My kids stopped and climbed on a large rock. As I took a moment to slow down, I noticed all the intricate colors, textures, and details in this seemingly simple rock. I was so compelled by the markings in this rock, that when I came back from that walk I started to paint.
Finding the right shapes and colors for abstracts can be difficult, but this one just clicked. I painted with my hands, with sticks, and with the music blasting.
