Is there anything better than that first sip of coffee in the morning? Or walking on the beach and looking down to find a sea glass treasure? This painting is an ode to those simple delights.
This piece feels special to me and like a breakthrough. I let loose and allowed more colors on my palette. A client encouraged me to crush up sea glass in a painting, and it sparked a new process for me! You can see in this piece where select areas have the sea glass. It creates a gorgeous texture and color that you can't get from paint. Experimentation, layers, textures, and unique pigments make this piece stand out.
This painting is painted with natural pigments, such as limestone, sand, charcoal, coffee, brick, inks and a bit of crayon and pastels. It is mixed with an acrylic medium to seal in the colors.
